The SGCSF JUNIOR PROGRAM 2010

Instructors: Peter Anderson, of St.George, a student at the University of Maine Farmington, is the Head Instructor in 2010. He is being assisted by Will Gibney, a student at Bates College, and Blair Southworth, a Freshman at Connecticut College.  Our Junior Instructors this year will be Briggs Hupper, of Concord, Massachusetts, and Lianne Schwalm, of Tenants Harbor.
Location: We sail from Blueberry Cove Camp, on Harts Neck Road and from our floats at the west end of Tenants Harbor.
Students: Open to juniors from 9 through 15, in beginning and advanced classes, limited to twenty juniors per class. All juniors must be able to swim and must wear a PFD at all times when on the water.
Boats: Eleven "Hunter 90" dinghies (also known as "JY 9's"), which are nine foot, single sail catboats that are unsinkable and self-rightable if capsized; four fourteen foot high-performance "420" dinghies; and three larger sloops. .
2010 Calendar : Three two-week sessions, starting July 5 and ending August 13. 0900-1200 for beginner and intermediate sailors ages 9-12; 1300-1600 for more advanced sailors and ages 12-15. (open Registration Form)
Costs: $140 per two-week session for students from the St. George School or Georges Valley High School; $280 per two-week session for all others. (open Registration Form)
